Target:

  • students at level L (Bachelor’s) in years 2 or 3,
  • students at level M (Master’s) in years 1 or 2.

Prerequisites:

Objectives:

  • The Certificate in Geographic Information System and Business Intelligence (CGISBI) of University of South Britanny (UBS) has 2 levels:
    • Certificate level 1 attests to the fact that the holder has acquired the professional skills needed as a user of a platform in BI and/or GIS field.
    • This GIS-BI certificate Level 2 presupposes mastery of the skills required for the GIS-BI certificate Level 1. This certificate level 2 attests to the fact that the holder has acquired the professional skills needed by professionals (advanced users, developers and administrator) whose main activity relates to Business Intelligence and Geographical Information Systems fields.
  • This certificate is linked to the use of the GIS-BI Platform of the University of South Brittany (UBS) named in French "Plateforme géodécisionnelle de l'UBS". It is composed with softwares and data that help to make a décision for middle or long terms with help of statistical processings or managerial reasoning within time or location dimensions. Softwares include commercial ones (SAS 9.2, Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Oracle 10g, SAP-BusinessObjects XI r3, ESRI ArcGIS 9.3, MapInfo Professional 10) or free and open source ones (Pentaho 3.6 CE, MySQL 5.1, PostgreSQL 8.4 / PostGIS 1.5 / GeoServer 1.7.6, MapServer 4.9).

Definition:

The "platforme géodécisionnelle de l'Université de Bretagne-Sud" includes all software and data to make a decision in the middle and long-terms that results of statistical treatment or management reasoning taking into account in particular the time and/or location dimensions. It is reasonable to exclude software packages (mainly) present in the transactional information system (On Line Transactional Processing).
